Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

AILL ("we," "us," "our"), operated by Sujala Devaas a sole proprietorship based in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, is committed to protecting the privacy of our users — especially minors. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and your rights under Indian law including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 ("DPDP Act") and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

2. Who This Policy Applies To

AILL's Service is used by children in Grades 5 to 10, all of whom are minors. Only a parent or legal guardian may create an account and consent to data processing on behalf of the child. This Policy applies to both the parent (account holder) and the child (end user).

3. Information We Collect

Information provided by the parent at registration:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Child's name and grade level
  • Payment information (processed by our payment gateway — AILL does not store card details)

Information generated during Service use:

  • Voice recordings and their transcripts (processed for Guru to understand and respond)
  • Text conversations between the student and Guru
  • Lesson progress, mastery scores, and topics covered
  • Mock test responses and evaluations
  • Session timestamps and duration

Automatically collected information:

  • IP address
  • Browser type and device information
  • Cookies and similar technologies (see Section 8)
  • Log data for security and debugging

4. How We Use Personal Information

  • To deliver the Service and personalize Guru's tutoring
  • To maintain session history so Guru remembers past lessons
  • To generate progress reports and mastery evaluations for parents
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions
  • To communicate with parents regarding account, service updates, and support
  • To improve Guru's teaching quality (in aggregate, anonymized form)
  • To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell personal data. We do not use children's data for advertising.

5. Third-Party Processors and Cross-Border Transfers

To deliver the Service, AILL uses trusted third-party service providers for AI language processing, speech-to-text conversion, text-to-speech generation, secure data storage, website hosting, and payment processing. Some of these providers operate servers outside India. Data transferred to them is protected by their contractual privacy commitments and applicable data protection safeguards.

By using the Service, you consent to such processing and transfer. A list of current processors is available on request by emailing hello@aill.in.

6. Data Retention

  • Account data: retained while the account is active, and up to 1 year after the last login, then deleted.
  • Conversation history: retained for the duration of the subscription plus 60 days, then deleted.
  • Payment records: retained for 7 years as required by Indian tax law.
  • Log and technical data: retained for up to 90 days for security purposes.

Parents may request earlier deletion by writing to hello@aill.in.

7. Your Rights Under Indian Law

As a Data Principal under the DPDP Act, 2023, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you and your child
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of data (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Withdraw consent at any time (this may affect the ability to use the Service)
  • Nominate another person to exercise these rights if you are unable to
  • Lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India

8. Cookies and Tracking

AILL uses essential cookies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and operate core features. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. You may disable cookies in your browser, but some features may stop working.

9. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls on our databases, and regular security reviews. No system is perfectly secure; in the unlikely event of a data breach affecting your information, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board within 72 hours of discovery, as required by law.

10. Children's Privacy — Special Commitments

Because our users are minors, we commit to the following additional protections:

  • We collect the minimum data needed to deliver the Service
  • We do not show advertisements to children
  • We do not profile children for commercial purposes
  • Parents may review, export, or delete their child's data at any time by writing to hello@aill.in
  • Guru is instructed to avoid collecting additional personal data during conversations and to recommend speaking with a trusted adult if a child discusses distress, harm, or sensitive topics
